This review is from: BaByliss for Men Super Stubble and Beard Trimmer 7898U (Personal Care)
I really don't understand the negative reviews. Firstly, it's NOT a razor, it's a trimmer. Next, unless you a bit of a freak of nature, your beard hair almost certainly doesn't stick straight out or all go in one direction - I know mine doesn't - so no trimmer will just magically work in one stroke. You have been fished in by the advertising bollocks. I have had lots of trimmer and clippers in my time and not one of them gets every hair in one stroke because of the angle the hairs are pointing or are laying against the skin.

I have no problems getting this to trim my top lip at all. It can be used in different orientations very easily so I don't understand those complaints, unless you have an unnaturally narrow top lip and even then I can't see the problem. I also have fairly large mutton chop type sidies and I have no trouble trimming to the sides of these.

The reason you cannot take the blade guard right off is because it's a stubble trimmer, not clippers that can go down to the skin.

Now, the good stuff: Battery is excellent. Charging stand is great with it's suction feet. To the guy complaining you haven't got a charging port on the trimmer: It's a waterproof device. A charging port would let water in and cause corrosion. Use your loaf. The height control is really good and precises and it remembers what the last used setting was. Charging time is good and it holds charge well, and it's waterproof so you can rinse it under the tap.

All in all, I love this trimmer - I've been trying to find a decent battery powered one for ages as mains power hair clippers work after a fashion but dragging a mains lead into the bathroom isn't ideal. If the moaners had bothered to read the description and then thought about it for a bit once they got the device they'd have had no problems. You cannot blame the device for your own inability to read.

My waterproof Panasonic shaver also has a charging port - it can easily be done (unless of course people want to be able to completely submerge the item in water - but why would they?). After 5 years of regular use (and frequent rinsing of the foil, head and blades under the tap) my Panasonic shaver has no corrosion, and if I am travelling I don't need to take the charging stand for the shaver only the charger.
But that was only an observation about the Babyliss trimmer - not something for which I marked it down.

By the way - you CAN remove the guard to expose the cutters and trim almost flush to the skin if you wish (or use on ear hair, nose hair or even eyebrows)
