A wonderful romance that is well written and engaging.,
This review is from: The Maiden and Her Knight (Mass Market Paperback)
Landless and disgraced Sir Connor of Llanstephen finds himself at the castle of Montclair in search of a rich purse. The last thing he expected was to be attracted to the lady Allis.
Allis is all but engaged to Baron Rennick de Frouchette, a close neighbour, who has increasingly encroached on the family while Allis' father is lost in grief.
Allis has had to become strong for her brother and sister against Rennick's constant pressure to take over her and her family. In Conner she senses a kindred spirit, a light in her darkness and they are inevitably drawn to each other. As their love grows they are tempted to throw off their responsibilities to be with each other but through the plotting and machinations of others they are torn apart and forced to put others welfare before their own. Their love seems hopeless but a we all know true love always finds a way.
A strong quietly confident hero, a beautiful caring heroine, and villains you can really hate all add up to all the ingredients for a good read.
