This is an entertaining enough modern comedy of errors involving a love triangle of one man his deceased brother's ex-girlfriend and her sister, it is a very simple plot and story but the acting is done brilliantly and as a result its more plausible than perhaps it would be had it actually played out in reality as it does on screen.
Our male protagonist appears to have lived a life in the shadow of the charismatic older bother, giving a rather riled and bitter speech about how, in contrast to all those reminiscing positively about, manipulative and insincere he believed his brother was. Although this appears to be the tip of the ice berg and the brother's ex-girlfriend offers to let him stay at her home while he gets away from it all, que his encounter with her sister and the development of the tangled love triangle.
Without spoiling the feature it is not at all as straight forward as it seems and everyone has motives which are different from those evident at first, this plays out well, it is done with enough plausibility as to not be as ludicruous as all that and the actors, as I said, carry it along well. The rifts which emerge in the relationships of all three characters are played as serious but not of such a pitch that they will result in any kind of real mutually assured destruction, this was in keeping with the overall tone of the film which is pretty positive and optimistic but also with the sort of realism I think it was aiming at portraying.
The events which follow and final pairings which result seemed a little sudden to me, I appreciate that the pre-existing and long standing relationships of the characters need to be considered and weighed against the more singular incident which threatened them and also that the sequence of shots aims to portray the passage of time. The concluding moments of the film will please some people, it did me for instance, but may not please others who will want something more affirmative or confirmative tying up loose ends.
All in all I woul recommend this feature, having never heard of it I did not know what to expect and had not preconceptions about whether it would be good, bad or indifferent but found it enjoyable and that it had a good message. Life goes on and people can choose to come together whatever crisis has driven them apart.
