I was insulted when my sister suggested that my back pain might be stress related and that I should read this book...What me, the calm controlled person who can take on any pressure??? Well it appears there is a lot more to me than I realised after having read this book. I was able to make my long running pain abate after reading the book in one afternoon. I do read parts of it again frequently to remind my brain why the pain is trying to reoccur and I seem to be able to keep it at bay like this. I do have to do a lot of reflection and recognise that I have been under enormous stress and that I am the classic sort of person Sarno refers to in his book. I have stopped my chiro as I found I was getting back pain almost always the day before I had the appointment and my mind was allowing this. I am working at it and I feel liberated. I think it should not be thought of as a quick fix, but an on going piece of work and mind.
