Interesting but a little turgid at times.,

An interesting and intriguing insight into the personality clashes among the various leaders in this campaign. Too much detail in this aspect did become tedious at times and rather distracted from the cut and thrust of the campaign and the appalling conditions borne by the ordinary servicemen. A different viewpoint perhaps but more focus on the combat situation would have added to the overall impact. At least the true significance and stature of Bill Slim is recognised, his professionalism and commitment to the campaign reveals the self interest and prima donna temperaments of the other main players.
