5.0 out of 5 stars Great slice of nostalgia!, 1 Mar. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Automan The Complete Series [DVD] (DVD)
This has been a long time coming! Finally Automan gets a deserved dvd release. This was a great sci-fi series from 1983/84 which has garnered a cult following in the last decade or so. I hope we get all 13 episodes from this amazing series which starred Desi Arnaz Jr and Chuck Wagner.

What exactly are you reviewing?

The set does not come out until late April, so not only have you NOT seen it, it has not even been released yet.

So what exactly do you think you have added by sharing with us your utterly pointless comment? Your lack of taste perhaps? After all, you do describe AUTOMAN as "great" and "amazing" when, in fact, it was nothing more than a cheap, badly made, badly written, woefully acted, ineptly cast, no-name rip-off of TRON that was so completely abyssmal that it did not even manage to run the full season length of above 22 episodes, before being axed and substituted by a mid-season replacement.

This sort of idiotic foolishness should not happen. Review-comments on things that have had no release as yet should be disabled. Nor should 'Amazon Reviews' be allowed to be made by people that have not actually bought the item actually from Amazon.

I've seen the series - I know the episodes and it's coming out on dvd... simple! What are you expecting to be so horribly wrong with this release? It's an Amazon review... get over it!

In my humble opinion the first comment is plain stupid. I'm always happy to find beforehand some reasonable enough reviews written by somebody who has actually seen the show. It helps to decide, if I'm at least interested in it. Thanks, Robby, I never knew the show even exists. And when I see a unfamiliar title, I check it out and I'm really happy to find a review. Then, the range of opinions from masterpiece to total drivel is another matter. Everyone has a right to his/her own opinion

I didn't say that you haven't seen the show. I did say, that you have a right to an opinion, and so does Robby. His review (or call it whatever you like) did tell me what kind of show it is and did help me to decide, if I'm interested to pursue it or not (and it's a no BTW) without googling, so I found it helpful. You have a different opinion, or a different POV if you like, and it's your right. I don't really understand the motive of your bile, and I'm not sure I want to. No point in arguing, really. Yessir, you are right. But so am I

Dear god, I don't even have time to read all of your vitriol. If you have THAT much time on your hands, I suggest once in a while you switch off your computer, leave the confines of your house and reconnect with the real world. Maybe then a simple Amazon review wouldn't get you so riled up. As for audio and picture quality, I used to watch this on a grainy tv set back in the day and I've got it on bootleg dvd as well, any form of picture quality is fine by me. I won't lose sleep over not having it on HD. It's an 80s show!!! I also don't really care about bonus features. You watch them once and never again in my opinion. I wrote my review in support of Fabulous Films taking yet another chance on releasing a show that not many people remember in an age when dvd sales are waning. I have bought many of their releases so I do actually know what to expect.

LOL
Somebody's watching all the episodes of the show he hates, and then just turning nasty.
Never you mind, Robby
