Good idea but needed more thought,
This review is from: Tycoon City: New York (PC CD) (Video Game)
I was really excited about this game. I was always a fan of SIMS games and the general management games of which the Tycoon games are one. Anyhow, the aim of the game is to expand your mini empire in Noew York by building structures and other grand buildings. I use the word "build" loosley because all the buildings are already-made. This is a downside as the only thing left for you to do is pick the sight - you can't even see inside the buildings you own!
You are expected to manage the costs and the visitors that come to your buildings. You can add attractions such as street acts or actors in costume to create interest but this is not much of a development really. Basically, you select a building from your menu and pick the sight and so on. There are options to upgrade your building but when you can't see what's going on inside, what's the point, right?
As with many of the Tycoon games, the concept is great but in this case lots more could have been done with this game. If your into admiring your handy work and seeing the impact of your improvements like you can in Fast Food Tycoon 2 for example (you actually see the customers and what they are thinking, and the better your restaurant, the more customers visit) this probably isn't the game for you! A bit of a let down, to be frank.
