Third volume in the series that collects issues of the comic planetary. This being a story about a team of rather special archaeologists. Who investigate the strange and the mysterious. All of which is leading them to a confrontation with a team of mysterious and powerful individuals who are trying to control the world.
This collects issues thirteen to eighteen of the series.
Many of the stories in planetary do read quite well on their own as they do have a fair amount of self contained elements to them. But the whole thing is one big storyline, and as you go on you find more and more that ties together, so new readers are better off starting with volume one.
As with previous volumes this contains excellent and eye catching art and colour work.
Contains many new characters who are actually thinly veiled versions of existing ones from other works of fiction.
And there are moments that make you look back to events in previous volumes and see them in a new light.
This one contains decent stand alone stories, and also those that move the whole narrative along very well.
Another quality release in this series, and one that will allow for re-reading once you've read the whole thing, because you'll be able to look it again in a different light.
