Customer Review

on 21 May 2013
I found this to be a nauseating, self-congratulatory pile of rubbish. Can just see Tarantino patting himself on the back for a "brave, honest and forthright" portrayal of a sickening part of history. Quite why he had to relish so obviously in the lurid violence is beyond me - the glamourised and fetishistic scenes of extreme brutality were so badly misplaced as was the attempt at humour. The scene with the masks has to be seen t be believed for its true awfulness and total misjudgement. The tone of that scene sat so badly and at extreme odds with the rest of the movie. In short, a vile piece of filmmaking masquerading as something important to say.
