Like many people, I was saddened to learn of the death of Steve Irwin. I had enjoyed watching his shows, and always thought of him as someone who deserved respect for his conservation work and attempts to educate people about dangerous wildlife.
This books allows a glimpse of the man behind the TV personality, and I felt absorbed by Steve and Terri's adventures. Fans of the crocodile hunter may even recognise some of the incidents described! It all makes for fascinating reading.
The end of the book is of course dreadfully sad, and I even shed a few tears. Terri doesn't shy away from describing the moment she heard of Steve's death, and the contrast with the former happiness is painful to read.
Overall, a great book for fans of Steve, who want a snapshot of his amazing life.
