Having never read any books about Harry Bosch before I guess I started this one at a disadvantage. For a newcomer the many references to the past got rather annoying, but I guess they all made sense and added to the value to those who already know and love Harry Bosch. I kept feeling left out, that a lot of things weren't sufficiently explained and then everybody kept being killed off. It was a very easy read and the story moved at a fast pace, which is always a good thing, but it was still a rather average story. I can think of many other writers whom I'd rather read.
