VINE VOICEon 16 August 2012
This volume of the Bleach anime includes the final eleven episodes of the Shusuke Amagai arc. The episodes in this volume see Rurichiyo return to the Soul Society in an attempt to stop her newfound friends from coming to harm. Unable to except this, Ichigo and Rukia follow her and attempt to stop her arranged marriage only to fall into a trap that has all 13 Court Guard Squads hunting them as criminals. Meanwhile the new captain of Squad Three attempts to increase coordination between Squads and Kira becomes more suspicious of Third Seat Kibune.

This ending for the Shusuke Amagai arc probably isn't quite as good as the first half but it is still relatively entertaining. The episodes in this volume include some nice action and some interesting plot twists that should keep people watching, even if the ultimate motivation for the arc's main bad guy ends up being somewhat shallow and somewhat clichéd. The animation and voice action for the English dub (the original Japanese is included of course) are reasonably good for a filler arc and while the plot is somewhat basic in the end, it is still relatively interesting.

This volume does see the return of the next episode preview and omake that were unfortunately left out of the previous volume due to time constraints.

Overall the Shusuke Amagai filler arc has been entertaining but isn't as good as the series proper and it will be good to see the action return to canon in the next volume. Overall this volume is worth around four stars.
