Great idea, mostly great music, oddball selection,

Blimey - "The Ultimate 60s Garage Collection!" - that's something I didn't think I'd see! Is it TV-advertised, with suitably young loud and snotty visuals? It oughtta be. Anyway here's a brand new garage comp aimed at a new generation of listeners curious to dig a little deeper under the current crop of guitar bands. Some classic tunes are included (Litter, Count Five, Music Machine) alongside some odd selections (how many times you wanna hear Teddy & His Patches is probably debatable) but the omissions are many as well. Any collection of the genre that omits ? & The Mysterians' "96 Tears" (albeit due to licensing issues) can't IMO really call itself "Ultimate", can it? And no Barbarians? No Balloon Farm? No Haunted? No Kingsmen, already? Companion volume of Nuggets recommended...

Exactly right. So many garage gems are missing this is a travesty of a comp. Can't imagine who's going to buy this. Get the nuggets box set and take it from there. Without any Mystic Tide, Human Expression or The Druids of Stonehenge, no comp can hold its head up.
