A Great Series Cut Short,
This review is from: The Lone Gunmen: The Complete Series [DVD] (DVD)
When "The Lone Gunmen" was shown in the US it was a smash-hit. At the time "The X-files" was winding down and suffering from poor stories and this series was the best thing going but was cancelled after 1 season for being anti-government (something fox doesnt like given its close ties to the higher powers in the US).
The pilot episode still gives me deja-vu, aired almost a year before 9/11, it's a hollywood "hero-saves-the-day" verison of the events that were repeated with disaterous results a year later - and the important "why-its-happeneing" speach makes you wonder if Bush saw this and then recreated it for the same reason - but thats another story.
The series contines with some seriously powerful and hard-hitting stories that sends chills down my back.
If you loved the lone gunmen while in the x-files, you'll love this series. A must have boxset.

M. Mellor says:
I'm sure it's just a coincidence that the pilot episode mirrors the events of 911, just like it's coincidence they were running drills for hijacked planes on 9/11, and bombs in the subway on 7/7, and Bush's signing the invasion order for Afghanistan the days before 9/11, or the Anthrax attacks on the same day the patriot act was published and passed, or Jeb Bush involvement in running security for the WTC, or WTC7 falling down without a plane hitting it, or no camera managing to capture a plane at the pentagon, or one of the planes being spotted after 911, or two of the planes staying on the FAA's active list for years after 911, or the Simpsons episode"Homer vs New York" predicting 911, or several of the hijackers still being alive and well, or that flight 93 wasn't a scheduled flight until 4 days before 9/11, or that the trading in put options for United Airlines was more than 10 times the daily average the day before 9/11. Just coincidence, COME ON!.

1) US Military often runs drills for hijacked planes, with US planes involved in about 30 hi-jackings since 1970 discounting 9/11 its hardly surprising. 2) What about the bombs on 7/7? 3) The US had been considering invasion of Afghanistan openly since 1992 but the Government hadnt taken the threat seriously, perhaps if the previous administration had then 9/11 wouldve been prevented. Too little too late. 4) What do the Anthrax attacks on the Patriot Act day have to do with it? 5) The Jeb Bush comment = Strawman 6) Fires brought down WTC7, technically fires brought down the world trade centre, aviation fuel-led fire wouldve brought the buildings down on its own with no plane involvement if left long enough, simple physics. 7) Unless you can find allegedly hidden footage of the Pentagon hit, im afraid it has to be filed in the "unlucky" section. 8) One of the planes being spotted? How do you mean? You mean someone saw a plane in the Sky? Im not sure if you know, but most AA planes look very similair. Hell, NEADS thought Flight 11 was still in the air 10 minutes after impact, i wouldnt trust any "reports" as nobody was very accurate. 9) A Simpsons episode? Yes, cartoons are undoubted proof you're right, how silly of us. 10) Do you have proof of the hijackers being alive? May i meet with them please? Some were mistaken identities, some have had others claim they are alive, notably Saudi business families for whom it would be embarassing for the world to think their relatives carried out such acts. 11) What does flight 93 not being scheduled mean? 12) I didnt understand the last point. Your argument is the most pathetic ive ever seen. Are you saying this elaborate well made plot couldnt of gone ahead on another flight number so it had to be 93? Are you saying Matt Groening knew about the 9/11 plot and decided to cryptically hide it in a cartoon instead of do something about it? Sounds alot like you're clutching at straws and deciding they're facts. You're reaching pal, you really are reaching. Come back when you've got some proof. And cirumstantial co-incidences are not proof. The "controlled demolition" argument has a fatal flaw. To lace those buildings with the explosives needed would take about 3 months. A centre which has 250,000 people pass through it every single day, dont you think somebody would notice? Dear God. Idiot.
