This is a fabulous boxset, showcasing the incredible talents of the Classic line-up of this band. For me, it doesn't get any better than this. Although they were very successful during the late 80s. I felt the band had lost it's soul.
Excellent packaging. Each of the albums are presented in Mini-LP format, together with inner sleeves, and at long last the Reading shows from 1979 & 1980 are made available. (I managed to go to Reading 1980 and this brings back some great memories) The DVD collects all of the promo videos of the time as well as various TOTP & OGWT performances. The Washington show is also an excellent inclusion.
The book is fabulous with loads of excellent pictures and details of the LP's. The Snakebite EP is included on 7" White Vinyl with the original artwork. The Vinyl is very heavy, so hopefully should sound terrific.
Overall I would highly recommend this boxset. Its a little pricey, but if you are a fan of this period of Whitesnake, you are unlikely to be disappointed. My only slight criticism is that they didn't use the original White cover for "Trouble", instead they have used the re-release Black cover, but have at least included the original inner sleeve.

A. Smith says:
Agree totally with everything Jacqueline! I was so excited about this box set coming and it lived up to my expectations. Agree also with the Trouble cover - I do remember at the time Coverdale saying there was a foul up with the white cover as the snake was really supposed to be in full close up and in yer face but it was reduced to a small size and he wasn't pleased. I'm not keen on the US cover, but only realised about the 'purple egg' from the comments in the book (how did I miss that? :-)...and no mention of the Lovehunter cover needing stick-on underwear in America (unless that was just a Coverdale joke at the time :-). I bought the Washington show as a bootleg dvd last year and was over the moon with it - I must say the version in the box is no better for quality but at least all the tracks are in the right order, and Belgian Tom wasn't on the bootleg. Anyway, just wanted to add to your comments in my excitement about having the box set :-)...and great memories of those Reading Festivals...just 'the best'

I got the DC approved remastered series not so long ago,so I would have prefered a stand-alone dvd of TOTP & OG Whistle Test DVD selection of the Marsden, Moody,Murray era.I know some people pushing 50 like me are supposed to have more disposable income, but I can't see the fans of the '87 Era shelling out for this box of.......either.
