I'd just like to point out first that, my review and rating of this game comes in light of the masses of awards this game has received and a sense of a heightened expectation. The game is good, it's lengthy so there's plenty to do, it's just not particularly amazing.
Being a Rockstar title, I expected some similarities to the GTA series, but this game is essentially a GTA port dressed up in Western clothing. The story isn't particularly gripping, nor does the opening 30 minutes of the game really encourage you to be thrilled with your task at hand. However the quests are numerous, but quests that involve 'racing' or 'chasing' aren't genuinely thrilling or rewarding.
The main hinderance with the game is the controls; your character feels sluggish and horse control is very temperamental because of the difficult camera (it's by no means impossible, just harder than it should be).
The graphics are average for this-Gen of consoles, yet the characters you meet do bring to life the barren environments.
I would not reccomened against buying this game, there certainly are enjoyable aspects. My thoughts are simply, don't buy into the hype.
