This is the story of a part of the disastrous Dieppe raid that was successfully carried out by a small but dedicated and very brave group of men. It reads like an exciting novel, but is fact, which makes it all the more interesting. The author covers the background of the participants and the operation itself in excellent detail whilst keeping the story moving. The description of the battle is very vivid and informative. I found the concluding chapters covering the aftermath and the accounts of the locals particularly useful. Highly recommended.
