Having come to this via This Mortal Coil and Dead Can Dance I was unfamiliar with the subsequent soundtrack career witnessed on this album by short (and somewhat inconsequential if pleasant) bits from Gladiator et al. However it is a very reasonable selection of Dead Can Dance tracks, a band notable mainly for her presence - it's a good way to get a selection without Brendan Perry singing which as other reviews point out and I concur, did little for Dead Can Dance. So, that voice of Lisa Gerrard! Everyone should at least hear it once; for the curious this is a good place to start (if not finish, you can perhaps have enough) and the tracks are varied within her range of styles. Being a 4AD album the artwork is suitably ethereal and there's no later items from other labels eg. work with Klaus Schulze the famed 'krautrock' pioneer - however, this may be no bad thing allowing greater variety of shorter (though still 5-6 minutes) tracks.
