1.0 out of 5 stars Dreadful, 11 Mar. 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Practical Mental Magic (Dover Magic Books) (Paperback)
Having read a great deal about this book I was expecting far more from it. The tricks/routines in it are very dated and mostly require in depth preparation or collusion from a member of your audience.
Seriously, don't waste your money!!

I would recommend readers take this review with a pinch of salt; I have worked my way through a great deal of this book and so far the tricks that require stooges are in the vast minority.

You will find the odd thing that is unworkable, or just too simple, or just plain silly, but unless you are a pro you are bound to find that the rest (which makes up about 90% of the book) is a real treasure trove of ideas for your own stuff. It didn't get its reputation as a cornerstone of illusion/mentalism by accident.
