1.0 out of 5 stars No soul, 26 Jun. 2009
This review is from: Amber (Audio CD)
On the strength of the reviews for this and the other albums I hoped for something promising but instead it was a huge disappointment. The muzak lacks any soul, it is mind-numbing and very difficult to engage with.

If you love electronica and casio keyboards then this is for you.

Personally I would much rather listen to Ulrich Schnauss or the Dining Rooms.

... in which case, you did a fairly poor job finding an album of similar musical attributes.

Ulrich Schnauss, now there's an innovator (not!) shoegaze + electronics, done better by port-Royal

"If you love electronica and casio keyboards then this is for you. "

this inept statement shows how ignorant you are of electronic music, and inparticular Autechre's Amber album, Autechre were so far ahead of any other electronic music artists, literally sculpting the sound with the instruments, their sound has always been a clash of cold metallic beats and warm emotive synths, intertwining. How you could fail to recognise the menace in the final track Teartear, with it's doom laden synths is beyond me.
Autechre's music is not difficult, it just rewards on repeated listens, maybe you just didn't give it time? your loss.
as for Casio keyboards, obviously an insult, those who don't understand, mock.

Baseball is dull only to dull minds.
