5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding police series, 25 Mar. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Beck - Series 17-20 - 4-DVD Box Set ( Skarpt läge / Flickan i Jordkällaren / Gamen / Advokaten ) ( The Scorpion / Girl In the Basement / The Vulture / The Attorney ) (DVD)
I have viewed nr 17 through nr 25. The last 2 of the series on DVD (25 and 26) are issued as (expensive) separates only now (2012). The next set should be nrs 25-28. I could not wait for the set to be issued. I read the Beck novels 30 years ago. One of the best of detective series--by far the best of the (many) detective novels of Scandanavia. Who would have thought that Sweden would come up with actors as good as Haber (you know him from 'the girl who...' series) for Beck and Persbrandt for Larsson. Persbrandt in particular lives up to the Gundvald Larsson character of the novels. OK, so if you think Wallander is good then you are in for a treat. And if you like nr 17 on, please e-mail Nordisk (you will find the address on their website if you are persistent) and ask/beg them to put English subtitles on nrs 1-16. (I thought only the French were stupid/chauvinistic enough to refuse to put English subtitles on their DVDs.)

Object to the comment about the French. Do we dub/subtitle our shows? No. There are some good subtitled programmes Eg Spiral.
