The Age of Miracles follows the life of 11-year-old Julia from California as the world is hit by a slowing. Days are no longer 24-hours but growing longer by the day, first in minutes then hours. At first the changes are almost impossible to notice but as the weeks, months and years pass more and more problems come to light, both for the world as a whole and our protagonist and her immediate family and friends. After the interesting premise, the book reads more like a young adult novel but nonetheless it kept me interested and although the ending wasn't as conclusive as I would've liked, it was still very readable. I would definitely recommend it to fans of family drama rather than science-fiction.
