Digital Sensor/ Camera manufacturers don't recommend ANY kind of compressed air "dust-off" because of contaminants. Instead they often recommend using rubber squeeze blowers....
... the problem is, rubber bulbs harbour all kinds of contaminants which can then be transferred onto sensors with even their feeble puffs!
This Chemtronics "Ultra-Jet AllWay" is powerful and guaranteed to be filtered to below 0.2microns and to never spray contaminants. I've found these claims to be true and it is very effective at removing dry contaminants from sensors without adding to the problem.
"This compressed gas duster can be sprayed right-side up and upside down, emitting a high pressure blast that cleans electronics without scratching delicate surfaces. The All-Way Spray can be sprayed in any direction without the risk of dispensing a liquid spray that can freeze or damage sensitive surfaces. Safe on plastics Nonflammable Xtra, Xtra cleaning strength Ozone safe Filtered to 0.2 microns 100% ultra-pure HFC-134a -- leaves no residue
Applications: Cleaning fiber optic connectors and bulkheads Removing particles from front silvered mirror assemblies Removing contamination from sensitive surfaces"
It used to be a much more reasonable price...and a 200ml can doesn't last long! However, it's still worth it when you consider the cost of a professional sensor clean.
