Rogue Herries (Herries Chronicles)
The book was bought as a Christmas Present for my wife and thus is, for the moment hidden away in a cupboard!
I don't doubt she will enjoy it, having recently read the other titles in the series.
She was somewhat reluctant to do this, but I persevered as we were due to visit the Lake District.
Once started on reading them however, she became quite addicted and now wants this one. No doubt, in due course, I will get to read it myself!
The Lake District visit was rememberable due to it pouring with rain when we set out to visit Watendlath - where the Herries books are anchored - lots of soaked walkers were coming down the hill and, in a momentary manoeuvre to avoid a group with a dog, I hit a hidden rock on the roadside and blew out our front tyre. We then became equally soaked changing the wheel! We will not forget that in a hurry.
One wonders why the Heries series have never appeared on TV?
