The Adventures of Zeppi is a delightful new series about a cute little penguin in search of his parents. That is the theme that bonds all the stories together. However, each individual story tackles a different aspect of Zeppi's life as he becomes close to Alesdor, the boy who has 'adopted' him and with whom Zeppi experiences various adventures. Besides being good fun, each story addresses a 'green' topic without being preachy, so young readers learn about taking care of our earth and environment.
In this the 2nd book, the circus comes to town and Zeppi wonders if his lost parents are in it. As he ventures into the circus, he learns about the captivity of the animals.
This is a great tale to read to your young kids or, for those early readers, have them read on their own. There's something sweet and gentle about the illustrations I really like.
