Noisttes should be far more famous than they are. After Wild Young Hearts, they disappeared without any news. When they returned, a third of them had disappeared! They started with a teaser video of Winner (more on that later), however still the media seemed to not be interested. They announce Contact, hardly any publicity is given towards it apart from several very positive reviews here and there. After listening to it, I almost think that the lack of publicity was deliberate. This album feels very personal and like it's mine and only mine.
Transmission Will Start is the perfect way to open an album. This 40 second chunk is a fully orchestrated work of art, leading straight into I Want U Back, which is amazingly catchy, quirky and sets the tone for the whole album. Final Call starts with an airport announcement, which I think is different yet it works, which appears several times if you listen carefully. Winner, mentioned earlier, was released in support of Team GB. It is an uplifting tune which will have you humming along! Let The Music Play is the weakest track marginally, but I like the "No's" incorporated into the chorus. Travelling Light is quieter and more personal, but takes a sudden turn in the last 40 seconds to keep you on your toes. That Girl is the first single and is a really summer-o-love song.
I would track by track for an album so versatile an diverse. As the final point, I really like the contrast between the begging and the end: starting off with a 30 piece orchestra and finishing with Shingai and a guitar. Pure Magic Noisettes, how do you keep on doing it?
