This review is from: Nights of Rain and Stars (Paperback)
I have read all of Maeve Binchy's novels. She tells wonderful stories & her novels always have a strength to them that I have rarely found with other authors. However, her latest novel was extremely disappointing.
The idea of setting a novel on a Greek island & telling the stories of how the various characters came to be on it is a very interesting concept, but I found that Maeve Binchy did ramble on a bit. The book lacked "spirit" & whilst her description of the Greek island did make me long to return to a holiday I had in Crete 2 years ago, I really couldn't wait to finish Nights Of Rain & Stars to see if the style of writing did improve & sadly it didn't!

I agree with you. I, also have read all of her books and this was the only one I really didn't care for. I was told by someone not to purchase the book as they did not like it either. She is still the greatest and I would I could find her last novel.
