I bought this purely for the 7th Date of Hell DVD. I was at the gig in '84, so I wanted to re-live the 'event'. There are very few filmed gigs that come close to the experience of being there, and this is no exception. However it's worth buying as a record of what was in many ways a truly amazing show. The fact that it was pretty well there first UK gig, self-financed, and at the Hammersmith Odeon to boot, is remarkable enough in itself, but when you take into account the sheer size and pyrotechnical nature of the show, it moves up to another level entirely. The CD seems to be the same remaster from a few few years ago, which itself didn't compare to the original vinyl (ignoring all the bonus tracks). Taken as a whole it's a great snapshot of an influential band at their short-lived peak.
