Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Duracell Stay Charged Entry Battery AA 1300MaH (Personal Care)
Duracell Supreme AA 2650mAh Pack of 4
Have bought about 20 of these batteries in the last year for using in Digi Camera's, the Wii etc. They have not had a hard life but are now starting to fail to hold their charge for more than a couple of days. My previous Sony and Energiser batteries from several years are disappointingly superior. I have been monitoring their life with a battery tester (from Amazon) as I found they failed to operate my Canon A570 after a day. Will not be buying anymore from Duracell - durable they are not!

I certainly agree, after buying two sets. From new they only held there charge for 4 days max.
Just the worst rechargables. I have ever bought. A total waste of my hard earned cash.
Tried in 3 different chargers. These chargers work with all my other brand batteries.
Avoid Duracell, unless you buy their, very costly disposable alkaline batteries.
Why???.

Just a futher comment, Uniross, seem to be one of the best, Lidl sells at times very cheap £1.99 X 4AA sets and just as good.
Duracell. Well, shame on a famous brand name.

Your experiences are contrary to reviews elsewhere (and my own). Fake Duracell batteries are widely sold on auction sites - if you bought them from a marketplace seller here you may have been the victim of this fraud.

But how do you know if they are genuine? Are they any markings I should be aware of?

I did buy mine from a marketplace seller and that didn't help.

Gusty - sorry you had a bad experience with your batteries and I certainly believe your story. Where did you purchase your Duracells from so we can estimate the probability they are fake batteries? I agree with others that there is, unfortunately, a significant amount of the market being supplied with fakes...

All rechargeable batteries will lose their ability to be recharged over time due to "memory" loss. To add new life to such batteries they need to be discharched and charged several times to refresh their "memory" to hold a charge. Don't believe me!! Look it up on the net.
