Mr Miller, Mr Prystowsky and Ms Adams have created some very beautiful music for their new album 'Oh My God, Charlie Darwin'.
The simple song constructions belie musicianship of the highest order. Songs as soundly realised as a Shaker rocking chair.
Timeless, erudite and totally convincing.
Whether whipping up a storm worthy of Mr Waits in 'Home I'll Never Be' or breaking our hearts with the likes of 'Cage The Songbird' this trio sustain their singular vision with masterful aplomb.
The tiny and fragile 'Music Box', coming in at barely two minutes long, is a particularly moving delight. A small dried flower pressed between the dusty pages of an old leather bound book.
'To The Ghosts Who Write History Books' is arguably the album's true highlight. The powerfully moving melody, haunting lyrics and marvellous instrumental arrangement are as good as anything I've heard in any musical genre this year.
A band to believe in. An album to savour and to love.
