Not the perfect gift for a budding Valentine, but fun nonetheless,

Although I bought and read this on my Kindle, I first saw it in with the 'romantic' selection for Valentine's Day at my local bookstore. Not a good place for it (though it made my evil side smile).
If you've read any Dan Rhodes before, especially his first book Anthropology, you'll have an idea what to expect. There are lots of (very) short stories in this collection, and it is perhaps best considered as the follow-up to that first collection. There is romance (honestly) - the one titled Goethe springs to mind. Mostly though they're a little twisted, dark, sometimes sweet, sometimes bitter. If you've enjoyed Dan Rhodes before you'll probably like this. If you've read him and hated it this won't be changing many minds. If you've not read any, starting here would do no harm, but take note of some of the comments on the poor reviews - it depends what you're looking for!
It only took me an hour or so to read the whole collection, but it raised a lot of chuckles, and, to quote one of the stories, it would have been hypocritical to refuse to cooperate.
