The review on the Canadian journal tells you all you need to know about this book: if you have any interest in community relations you should read the book.
Unfortunately the publisher, Willan, was bought out by Routledge who are supposed to be a publisher of academic books but they price them so highly that they are beyond the reach of students. This is a great shame because the Willan ethnography series provide an antidote to the relentless dumbing down by textbooks. There is no justification for Routledge's almost 50% increase in the price of this book from the price asked by Willan. Any lecturer reading this should think twice about placing any Routledge book on their reading list: in fact, let them know about this unfair pricing and boycott the greedy publisher.
