whilst attempting to recover with anxiety and depression i decided to give this book a try. i had previously found CBT a bit formulaic and exagerrated the problem of me being in my head too much and over analysing everything. act and namely this book was a real turn around for me, for once i was reading a book that wasn't telling me to fight these feelings or some up with a straetgy to avoid them happening, this was telling me to embrace them. i think russ harris's friendly and cuddly style really helps and his book that was pretty revolutionary at the time is now a must read for anyone suffering with anxiety and depression. i can't recommend it enough, it feels corny to type it but it really has changed my life and a year in i'm still occasionally dipping back into the book and also found the happiness trap pocket book to be a book sumary of the keys. another recommendation, there is an app called act companion which u can get for ur iphone. it's expensive at 13 quid but coupled with this a really tremendous thing to have with u.
