.. thought it was going to be another "were american, the world cant work without us" type of book. To a large extent, it was (you would be fooled into thinking that the war in Afghanistan is US vs. the world) but I really enjoyed the almost humble writing style of the author. Really connected with the characters in the book, even although most were just fleeting acquaintances, and I really liked the connection the author built with the regular soldiers.
Very enjoyable book. I wish every footballer would read something like this to understand the true meaning of the word "hero" - but the way soldiers put their lives on the line is quite astonishing... and something we should all be proud of.
