I bought the book to help my daughter study the play as part of her GCSE. Arthur Miller's short play is about the conflicts of law and justice and the importance of the Code of Honour amongst Sicilian immigrants in the US - a modern Greek Tragedy it focuses on the self-destruction of the protagonist due to his incestuous love of his niece and jealousy of her lover, one of his wife's cousins. It is well written and Miller uses a lot of stage direction to bring the character's emotions to life and to illustrate how they change throughout the play through to its tragic end.
