Get it if you liked GTA IV,
This review is from: Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City (PC DVD) (DVD-ROM)
If you enjoyed GTA IV you will enjoy this. There is about 7-8 hours of story missions (so I hear, but I haven't played through them all yet), but as it is GTA you can keep going back and having fun without the need of a set story.
Given that most big release games contain less than 6 hours of play time these days, you are essentially getting 2 newly released games here for 1/2 the price of 1.
Both of the episodes have their own unique gameplay mechanics that make them play differently from each other and from GTA IV, but mostly it will feel pretty familiar.
New mini-games like air hockey, golf, underground fight-clubs where you can go to bet or fight to earn money, dance in nightclubs to try to impress ladies, or do shots etc...Lots of new stuff to do.
This game seems a lot better optimized on the PC than GTA IV was and you do not need GTA IV to install and play this.
The one thing that annoyed me a bit was that it didn't merge with my existing install of GTA IV, so it took an extra 16GB of HD space on my computer for basically the same files.
For some reason, when I save the episodes, it only gives me the option of overwriting my GTA IV saves as well, so it might be an idea to back-up your GTA IV save games if you can locate them (google is your friend...)
Anyway, good games so far. Some nice crossover moments with Nico's story and it will more than likely take you to areas of LC that you hadn't explored before in GTA IV.
