In this fascinating book, writer and director (including films for PBS) Jack Cashill casts a piercing light on the American intellectual elite. Moving through the twentieth century, Mr. Cashill shows how the cultural and intellectual trendsetters in America have supported their agendas by using a series of half-truths and downright lies. They have created a history that they have woven out of whole cloth, embraced heroes whose true nature they cannot admit, and sought to destroy anyone who seeks to expose their disinformation. From Sacco and Vanzetti, through Alger Hiss and Alfred Kinsey, it is a shocking litany of deceit and imposture. I must say that this is one of the most fascinating, and yet disturbing books that I have ever read. The author does an excellent job of proving his case that the various people involved not only lied in support of their causes, but knew that they were lying, and boldly sought the destruction of anyone who sought to bring the truth to light. Overall, I must say that this is probably the most important book that I have read all year. If you are interested in reading about the truth behind the elitists' sacred cows, and even more importantly, what was done in their service, then this is the book for you. If there is only one book that I would be allowed to recommend, then this book would be it. This is an important book that must be read!
