Five short stories about Erin Lawless' 'The Making Of Us' characters, set during their university years. Don't worry, you don't need to have read the novel to enjoy these shorts!
Funny and true, these little tales will appeal to those of us who remember being a little too poor to do things quite right but full of the innovation and enthusiasm of growing up, to anyone who's had a bad landlord, a terrible ex or loving if shameless friends, to anyone who isn't really an adult but is in sighting distance, and still trying to work it out. Lawless captures those moments that at the time seem ridiculous or trivial but become the memories you cherish, and makes them touching, heartwarming, often hilarious, sometimes poignant, always easy to empathise with. Johnny remains my favourite character, being far and away the most loveable of the group, although all the characters have their own charm.
If you ever watched 'Friends' or 'Cold Feet' and wanted more, or remember any number of university disasters, give these little stories a try! You won't regret it.
