This was Dion's re-emergence as a pop/rock superstar after a few years of relative obscurity. It was, I think, a sort of 50th birthday present from himself to his fans, and is a fitting confirmation of his legendary status, and inclusion in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Dave Edmunds had a very big hand in this album, as producer and musician, and the results are superb. Standout tracks are the title track and "Written on the subway wall", which features a brief but unmistakeable vocal from Paul Simon. Dion was, and still is, a force to be reckoned with......now, 20-odd years on and in his 70's, he is showcasing his skills as a guitarist and blues singer in the traditional vein. If, like many people, your experience of Dion is limited to just "Runaround Sue" and "The Wanderer"....buy this album now, and give yourself a special treat.
