Customer Review

Can recommend this - A quick and easy read that is a clever twist on the "go into the woods and something terrible happens" sub genre (without a hockey mask or chainsaw in sight!). I've always wondered why we don't see more hen parties in crime fiction, so it's great to see this concept, especially with an unreliable narrator. In some ways I reminded of THE HOLE starring Thora Birch. Tonally it feels a little YA, but given protagonist Leonora has spent ten years stuck at age 16, this works. I was pleased to see a diverse cast, too. It's not difficult to see why Hollywood A Lister Reese Witherspoon snapped up the rights to IN A DARK DARK WOOD. Can't wait to see the movie!
