It must be age (mine) or is it that Clancy lost the 'touch'?,
This review is from: The Bear and the Dragon (Paperback)
Given some of the lengthy reviews posted, this one does not attempt to compete... I would merely remark that whereas Clancy's work seemed gripping to me twenty plus years ago, something was lost along the way. OK, this book came out at a time when the Chinese 'reserves' might have been in a less than good state (contrast today) but even so it does not have the adventure and 'unputdownability' of Red October and the early oeuvre. Stick with it though!
