As other reviewers have said the 10 books in the "Immortals After Dark" series are all great stories. Excellently written by Ms Cole. But I was a bit disappointed with this novel. If you're looking for action and adventure then this book is fine. But I felt that the romance between the two main characters was a long drawn out affair that had to depend on flash backs to the past to show any kind of Love/romance between Regin and her lost lover Aidan. Declan/Aidan is a deeply scared individual who carries out vile torture on Regin, his supposed one true love. Then thinks that he is entitled to her love and that he can win her over when he finally realises that she is not a freak/abomination! (Which of course he does?!!) It's a long read and packed with more adventure than love and romance. Not Ms Cole's best work and I've been waiting a long time to get my hands on this instalment of the series. I know there has to be conflict for it to be resolved but I just prefer less torture and more loving.
