Customer Review

on 30 March 2001
Anne Sophie is a revelation as an interpreter of modern pop songs, but there are some "wrong notes" struck. Elvis doesn't sing solo until well into the CD, but when he does he spoils it with his terrible vibrato (just listen to his voice on his early recordings - never great, but at least not pretending to be an operatic baritone). The arrangements are occasionally rather feeble, as if EC was afraid that drums and electric guitars would frighten the horses. But the breathy quality of A-S's voice, her marvellous diction, and the selection of songs make this an indispensible addition to the true fan's collection.
