...must have been the cry when Buckethead walked into the studio because restraint is exactly what happened.
I didn't recognise this as Buckethead on first listen as gone are the fanciful tricks and usual sampled craziness that goes with the KFC'd one.
While Buckethead is an impressive guitarist, this is the first time I have heard him play with some real feeling (and not the feeling of walking into Bucketheads world of being a living B movie...with chickens).
Some tracks are quite beautiful and the keyboards supplied by Mr Travis Dickson are really quite splendid. Pinchface holds the drums down nicely, keeps it simple and plays the others into space.
It's a fine trip back to the style of yesteryear in places, because don't we all wish we could have seen the 60's?
