Customer Review

on 25 January 2013
This is a quirky little book which is full interesting “snippets” of information about the history of America.

Designed as a coffee table type book, which can be picked up and read whenever you have a spare few seconds, this title is full of short but interesting articles that explain the entire history of America in simple to read bite size chunks. Every possible subject matter seems to be included, from the writing of the Constitution, through to Nixon’s Watergate Scandal - also useful is the Historic time line and list of Presidents, including Obama, which are included just after the contents page. Incredibly well written and rather fun to read, this book provides a tantalizing glimpse and taster into some key events that helped shape the USA.

If you are looking to do in-depth research, or are expecting detailed historical accounts, loaded with background information, and overflowing with references, then you will need to look elsewhere – what this book offers is an informative, to the point introduction to key American events.
