Nature vs. Nurture: I though we settled this.,
By A Customer
This review is from: Guns, Germs and Steel (Hardcover)
Diamond presents interesting hypotheses and evidence for the influence of geography and culture in shaping human societies, but states they are the ONLY causes of societal development. Never forget that societies are made of people. People mediate the effects geography etc. have on society. To say that people (i.e., intelligence) have nothing to do with society is tantamount to saying that nature (heredity) plays to role--that nurture (environment) is the only cause. Absolutely rediculous. I cannot believe anyone let this book get published with such a silly theory.

Rather than pasting the same 'comment' into multiple reviews, why don't you have the gumption to write your own review, you Muppet?
