Customer Review

on 3 February 2014
I bought this book a week ago and I have to say it's a great account of the war. It's a non-stop ride with the author, as if you're watching over his shoulder as all the madness is unfolding in front of him. There are parts of the book that made me laugh where the author points out the illogical behavior of the military, some parts are quite shocking such as the author witnessing ARVN killing women and children in a village which he had refused to shoot just moments before, even the author himself comes across brutal with blood lust and getting excited or angry over kill counts as if it were a game with a scoreboard. An interesting look into the human condition in times of war.
