Shilts was my childhood hero, and it's great to finally read a book about him, written by him. Peter Shilton was the player who made me want to play in goal (although I never got beyond the school team). When I bought kit, it had to be the trademark yellow Peter Shilton endorsed keepers' jersey and red Sondico gloves (both with his printed signature !) He was the world's number 1 keeper - no contest. And I doubt anybody will better him. The early stories of how he trained as young lad are a joy. The opening paragraphs of how Leicester City pro's took pot shots at him and none managed to score sets the scene for the rest of the book. Incidently, Shilton was just 13 years old when this happened. Legend.
