Customer Review

on 25 July 2013
This book contains three "what-if" stories set in the Star Trek universe. Each story depicts how events could have turned out had circumstances been different. Essentially each story takes place in a parallel universe to the main series continuity.

For example, in an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation ("The Offspring") Data created a little girl android named Lal. In my favourite story, "The Embrace of Cold Architects" Data still creates Lal but he does so several months later than he did in the actual series. This seemingly small change has a huge knock-on effect.

The stories are well-written and compelling, leaving the reader wondering "and what happened in this parallel universe after that" at the end of each story. Fans of Star Trek (especially the original series and The Next Generation) will really like this.
