This is simply one of the best cake books I have ever bought. In fact I don't think I really need the others any more. All the recipes are clear and they work. The cakes are also photographed beautifully throughout.
The book provides a truly mouthwatering selection of cakes (and cheesecakes, and pastries) from all corners of the globe, with favourite staples like Victoria sponge and devils food cake to the more obscure and exotic like kueh lapis from Indonsia and the Chinese pandan kaya with its startling green icing.
Roger Pizey is a patisserie magician and he shares some useful, practical tips in the book, which are well illustrated.
If you only buy one cake book, make sure it's this one.
